Seraphim Mecha - Happy Softcore

I really don’t rightly know what the fuck this is all about. It’s certainly not the song I set out to make. I think it sounds like a car commercial in parts, which is either good or bad, depending on how you look at it. To be honest, I’m not sure what genre this would fall into, but it sounds like Happy Hardcore, minus the meth amphetamine, to me. Thus the title. I kind of aimlessly strung it together, but I suppose it sounds like everything’s intentional. Anyway, it took less than a full night’s work, which is good, ’cause I usually get sick of a song if it takes more than one day to finish. I suppose that’s why I just finished Wheel, after starting it a long time ago on a Reason version far, far away. I digress. I still want to make another Ambient song, gods know why. Maybe ’cause the last one only took 5 tracks when I’m used to working with 9ish. In any event, I think I’ll get back to work on my mix cd. Not much left to do to put it out…just that what’s left sucks. When it’s done I’ll put it up as a full CD, and you’ll be all like “hot damn this is a fly mix, bitches.” Speaking of which, Ben Folds’ cover of Dr. Dre’s ‘Bitches Ain’t Shit’ is rather delightful. Might host it if anyone requests.

Charles and Joe have some good points. The pseudonym ‘Seraphim Mecha,’ though it’s been my nom de plume throughout my solo electronica work, is in critical peril. Seraphim is plural, and Mecha is Nihon-tarded. I suppose it’s kind of childish and haughty, and certainly pretentious (then again, I did write a song called Errant Elysium, so I can’t ever claim to be above pretentiousness), but it just sounds good, doesn’t it? I really like the idea and the imagery of Seraphim Mecha. A big fucking angelic killing machine of righteous glory and unceasing fury, feathery wings ablaze with hellfire. I mean, who doesn’t love that? Still…it has been my pseudonym for a long while, and has covered many different evolutions in style and quality (at least I hope so). Time to let it go? I could pull a Dan The Automator and just use a different name for each project I work on, but I know (being an Automator fan) that that gets really, really fucking annoying. I dunno…I’m certainly giving it some thought.

I’ve kept up this urge to make mellow music for more than two days, which is saying something. I’ve got another Ambient thing floating around my head, though the current melody is something of a complete ripoff from…somewhere I can’t recall. We’ll see where that goes. I’m thinking about uploading all my old, completed songs for finalized hosting sake, and in case someone stumbles upon this and likes what they hear. Also, I’ll probably be throwing up a T1 hosted full album torrent of new music I’m digging on some sort of regular basis, though I haven’t yet determined the frequency.

So that’s it for now, next post should be a song!

Seraphim Mecha - Airlock

Well, this is the first entry of my…music blog, I suppose you could call it. Herein, I make music, post it, and you listen (or not) and leave feedback (or not). I’m going to get a real blog script going, but not tonight, so deal with whacha got. Made this song over the course of 4ish hours, with definite influence of too many Firefly episodes. Not that it has a western theme, just the title, mostly. It’s as Ambient as I can stand, which is a change of pace. Anyway, check it out!

EDIT:

I got some blog software installed, but I still need to get the color scheme in order, etc.
